I Feel Beautiful Today!

Ever had one of those days where everything seems to go wrong? Ever needed a pick me up? Why don't you take some time out of your bad day to make yourself feel pretty? I have often had those days of discouragement and disappointment, but I find one way to give myself a quick pick me up.... is to dress up!

Beautify Yourself!
Taking an hour or two for yourself is incredibly important in our crazy fast paced lives. Spending a little time on yourself is amazingly cathartic and helps increase a self esteem that may have been damaged by all those little disappointments. It doesn't matter how you dress up. It can be simply in your favorite shirt and your most comfy jeans. It can be that beautiful dress you bought and haven't had a chance to use. The most important aspect of dressing yourself up is that you feel beautiful and comfortable in your outfit. You do not have to wear this outfit outside of your room, although sometimes dressing up on the most mundane days will cheer you up as you move though the motions of the everyday.

Take a picture!
If you don't feel comfortable going out into the world in your elegant dress, take a picture! It may seem silly to take a picture of yourself for yourself, but sometimes it's nice to remind yourself how beautiful you really are! When you have a bad day and you don't have the energy to dress yourself up... bring out that picture to remind yourself of how pretty you looked that day and then remind yourself of all those aspects of your face and body that make you a beautiful unique human being.

Let's face it. Humans are beings filled to the brim with ego. We like to know that we are beautiful, talented, intelligent... etc. On those bad days feed that ego a little bit, it's perfectly fine to let go of modesty and feel good about who you are and how you look. It's ok to look at that picture of yourself and say "Damn, I look good!" In fact we should be saying that everyday. So take that time every once in a while to put some make up on, do your nails, put up or pull down your hair, and drape that favorite t-shirt or gorgeous dress, and highlight those aspects of yourself that make you feel beautiful.

Don't forget to feel good about yourself today!

The Happy Place

I personally have been undergoing a lot of stress in my life with the prospect of studying abroad this coming fall and all that comes with it, along with the pressure that come with your senior year in college. Every coming day has driven me further and further into the ground, and everyday I feel like I will never take pleasure in my existence again. But, there is a cure and if you can allow yourself to leave your sulking and the need for people to pity you and your alleged or actual depression i promise it should put you on a path to happiness. (PS: I am one of those who gets stuck in the pit of sulking and sometimes i do not want to leave it.)

THE HAPPY PLACE: We have all heard of it, and it is commonly used in movies as a comedy relief, however it works. If you put your energy, creativity and time into it this trick will help you get through any upsetting situation. Here are the basics:
  • Where in life makes you the happiest?
  • What about the place makes you happy?
  • If you could do anything with that place, how would you change it? Or would you leave it the same?
My own happy place is on top of a sun covered mountain. I am getting ready to go down the slope on my skis and the cold winter breeze is blowing into my face. In the distance the giant blue snow clouds are coming down from Vermont and underneath is the the falling of enough snow that for high school students its a promise for a snow day. On top of this mountain, I am all alone and there is no one to rush me from behind and slow me down from the front. This is my happy place.

One other thing to note, that as you change and continue living the path of your life, your happy place may change.

Meet Us!

Hello!

The thought came to me today, how if I could I would want to help everyone find the best in themselves and be comfortable in their own skins. So, with the use of this blog I want to offer my advice and tips in order to help those who want it.

I will not judge anyone, unless it it clear that your morals are possibly violent, and I will accept outside comments on my own advice and tips. The best part of the world we live in is the diversity that allow us to offer others advice that they would never think off. I would love for this a place to do that.

Hey Everybody!

When Berg approached me with this idea I was inspired, I jumped at the chance to aid her with this blog. I hope that we will be a help to anyone who may have a question... or just need someone to talk to. We are not perfect people and I personally would love to hear constructive criticism on any advice we may give, but I am sure that both Berg and I would also love to hear about when you like our advice.

This Blog is for everyone and anyone to post comments and thoughts. I hope that the two of us will be able to help out anyone who posts!
